In February, industrial producers increased prices year-on-year for the first time in 13 months
Industrial producer prices reached higher figures year-on-year, mainly due to a change in the trend in electricity and gas supply. Producer prices in the energy sector rose for the first time since December 2023. Farmers sold their production products at 7% higher prices year-on-year.
The prices of industrial producers for the domestic market were higher by 2.4% year-on-year in February 2025. There was an average price increase for the entire industry after 13 months of declines. In total, out of 16 industrial sectors, price increases were only recorded in 12. The most significant impact was the increase in prices in the energy sector by 4.2%, its producer prices increased for the first time since December 2023. A slight increase in prices was also observed in manufacture of transport vehicles, with producers' prices higher by 4.4% year-on-year. The overall result was also affected by the persistent growth in producer prices of rubber and plastic at around 5%. On the contrary, prices were lower year-on-year, e.g. in manufacture of petroleum products by 8.1%. In total, for the first two months , the prices of industrial producers for the domestic market were lower by 0.1%.
Industrial producer prices for the non-domestic market in February 2025 increased by 0.4% year-on-year and decreased by 1.1% month-on-month. In total, for the first two months of 2025, industrial producer prices for the non-domestic market were higher by 0.9% than a year ago.
Agricultural product prices
Agricultural products prices recorded a year-on-year increase of 7% in the second month. More dynamic growth compared to last February was recorded by crop products (+ 9.6%) as well as animal products (+ 4.9%).
Among crop products, double-digit growth of over 10% was recorded by cereals, legumes, as well as oilseeds and fruits.
Among animal products, sheep and lambs in particular were more expensive for producers year-on-year, currently in February they were sold by 24% more expensive than a year ago. A more dynamic growth also continued for hen edible eggs (+ 12%) and cow's raw milk (+ 8%).
Producer prices of agricultural products in total increased by an average of 7.3% in two months.
Producer prices in construction
Construction work prices were 2.9% higher year-on-year in February 2025 and 3.1% higher overall in the first two months. Prices of materials used in construction were 1.9% higher year-on-year in the second month and 1.9% higher overall since the beginning of the year.
